Position: GSRP Lead Teacher (Full-Time)
Location: Reynolds Elementary, Reading, Michigan
Reports to: Building Principal
About GSRP
The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is Michigan’s state-funded preschool program for eligible four-year-olds. It is designed to support children’s early development and readiness for kindergarten.
Primary Purpose
To lead and manage a high-quality preschool classroom under the GSRP model, and deliver developmentally appropriate instructional services in compliance with state standards and grant guidelines.
The GSRP Lead Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating a high-quality and develop mentally appropriate preschool program for four-year-old children in accordance with the Michigan Department of Education’s GSRP Implementation Manual, early childhood best practices, and the Creative curriculum model. The Lead Teacher promotes school readiness by supporting the physical, social-emotional,and cognitive development of each child and by engaging families as active partners in their child’s learning.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and implement lesson plans using approved curriculum and aligned with the Early Childhood Standards of Quality (ECSQ)
- Supervise, mentor, and collaborate with assistant/associate teachers
- Conduct screenings, assessments, ongoing progress monitoring, and documentation to guide instruction.
- Maintain classroom environment, supplies, and materials
- Provide family engagement experiences (home visits, conferences, parent meetings)
- Complete required grant, licensing, and program paperwork in a timely manner
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and trainings
- Adhere to licensing, safety, health, and regulatory guidelines
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, candidates must meet one of the following:
- A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special Education (ZS) endorsement, Birth-K, or PK-3 endorsement; or
- A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching. The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education
Additional required qualifications:
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Ability to pass background checks (MSP fingerprint, LARA, etc.)
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team
Preferred:
- Previous experience teaching preschool or early childhood
- Familiarity with Creative Curriculum and the child assessment Teaching Strategies Gold
- Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds
Professional Compliance Plan (if needed)
For candidates who do not fully meet credential requirements at hire, a Compliance Plan may be required.This outlines a pathway for meeting all credentialing requirements (e.g. coursework, endorsements) within a specified timeframe (often within 3 years).

Reading Community Schools is seeking a compassionate and highly motivated Behavioral & Mental Health Interventionist to support the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students. This position plays a critical role in helping students develop healthy coping skills,build positive relationships, and access the support needed for academic and personal success. The Interventionist will collaborate with teachers, families, and community agencies to design and implement effective behavioral and mental health strategies. This individual will provide early intervention, crisis response, and progress monitoring for students exhibiting behavioral or emotional challenges.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Education, or a related mental health field required.
- Experience in the K-12 school setting.
- Experience or credentialing in school-based behavioral health interventions is a plus.
Professional Qualifications:
- Experience supporting students with emotional or behavioral needs in a school or therapeutic setting.
- Working knowledge of trauma-informed care, restorative practices, and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).

Organizational Relationships:
The Behavioral & Mental Health Interventionist reports to the Building Principal and works collaboratively with the building principal, School Counselor, and School Social Worker. This position is integral to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive school climate where students feel seen, valued, and capable of success.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and small-group sessions with students to address behavioral,emotional, or social concerns.
- Develop and implement student-centered behavior and intervention plans.
- Support the school’s PBIS and social-emotional learning (SEL) initiatives.
- Collaborate with staff to design classroom systems that promote regulation,engagement, and belonging.
- Respond to behavioral or mental health crises using trauma-informed and restorativeapproaches.
- Serve as a first responder for student behavior incidents and assist in de-escalation and follow-up.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, and behavior data to identify patterns and support early intervention.
- Partner with families to strengthen home–school communication and continuity of care.
- Facilitate referrals to community-based counseling or mental health services whenappropriate.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and student support planning.
- Provide professional development to staff on trauma-informed practices and behavioral supports.

Job Summary:
The special education teacher is responsible for planning instruction and adaptation of the curriculum to accommodate scholars in the learning process. The special education teacher will function as the case manager for scholars with individualized education programs (IEPs) and oversee their compliance.

Parent and Community Engagement:
- Make and maintain regular, positive contact with parents via phone calls, email and/or home visits including communicating scholar progress.
- Establish and maintain effective written and oral communication and rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Participate in parent meetings, including IEP’s and Parent/Teacher Conferences.
- Contribute to the development of a positive attitude between the school and the wider community through cooperative relations, publications, competitions, etc.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education with endorsement in at least one area of special education (ASD, EI, CI, LD, etc.).

- Demonstrated understanding of current research as to how children learn and the ability to motivate scholars to perform at their best.
- Demonstrated competency in the administration and interpretation of academic testing and development of behavior support plans.

Position Summary
Reading Community Schools is seeking a qualified professional to provide special education compensatory services to students, in alignment with their Individualized Education Program (IEP) and as determined through the IEP team process. Services will be provided for approximately two (2) hours per week, with scheduling arranged in collaboration with families and district staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction or related services as outlined in the student’s IEP.
- Document service delivery in compliance with district and state requirements.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff regarding progress.
- Collaborate with district special education staff to ensure consistency of support.

Special Educational Paraprofessional Behavioral Support Specialist

- Summary of Position: The Special Education (SE) Paraprofessional assists the teacher in providing for the physical and instructional needs of an individual student with moderate to severe disabilities. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:

This position plays an important role in ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of students to and from school. School bus drivers will be needed to cover routes and other assignments as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate a school bus safely and efficiently in compliance with district policies, state laws, and federal regulations.
- Transport students to and from school. (field trips, sporting events and extracurricular activities, will be paid at arate of $17 per hour).
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
- Maintain order and ensure student safety while on the bus.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, and staff.
- Complete required reports and documentation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Michigan Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with “S” (School Bus) and “P” (Passenger) endorsements.
